Seasons

"To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven..." Ecclesiastes 3: 1

As the season changes from Winter into Spring and now slowly into Summer, I see the brilliance of God revealing Himself in the Earth! The trees have started to give way to fresh green leaves, flowers are pushing forth new buds, the grass begins to poke its way out of the earth and the chirping of birds grows ever so crisp to my ears. This is creation showing forth the glory of the Father; this is the magnificence of our Lords beauty; the awesome display to his sovereignty.  As I observed this display of God's handiwork, I realized that my natural life and spiritual relationship with God go through seasons of change.

The natural always reflects the spiritual and just as the seasons naturally change, they spiritually change as well. I believe that one of the most interesting things about change is how the natural seasons that we encounter are symbolic of the spiritual seasons that God matures us in. We go through our Springs of change where there is new growth and an abundance of rain to nurture our spiritual development; our Summers of change, where we show off our glow from our moments of meditation and being in the presence of God; our Falls of change, where our leaves are stripped away, the cold winds blow on our deepest pains, and we experience shorter days and longer nights; our Winters of change, where we experience brisk, bone chilling temperatures, snow fall ,and the dormancy and hibernation that force us to be still enough to hear the voice of our God in the coldest moments of our lives.

The importance of these seasons are for us to learn how to connect to God's time-table and to flow with the seasons of live that he is bringing us through; whether it be the shedding of our incongruities during Fall, the cold damp cloudy moment during Winter, the revitalization during Spring or the revelation of his glory during Summer. All these seasons greatly work to become the episodes of live that bring us into the fullness of the knowledge of God!     ---D. Sherow, Jr.

Your ability to speak life and move forward in God's direction, even though you may be ensnared in darkness and surrounded by fear, can become a testimony of your faith in God's ability to do the impossible; however, God is more than able to do the impossible, whether you decide to activate your ability or not.----D. Purposeful Pondering

Am I laying down because I have no fight in me
Or is my brilliance losing its vibrancy?
Whatever happened to the fight in me?
The one that demanded purity and a life lived righteously---
I need an enlightening.
The moments are short and I'm filled with despondency,
Lost in the trappings that I submit to mindlessly---
Whatever happened to the kinder me, gentle, yet focused tirelessly,
Never allowing depression and weakness to tower over me;
Never relinquishing my power
And now in the hour of my most needed strength,
I cower---asking God where is my faith in Him?
How did I lose it and stray so far from Him?
Where did I go that I started to not see him clearly
Or hear His voice anymore?
Why is it so hard to even desire to relinquish those things that I once abhorred?
Is my asking in vain?
Does my Father really feel the pain
---that I feel?
Does he see my hurt masked in pride and self-worth,
all while killing my body w/ the poisons that consume the dirt?

I don't know where I am, but I know that I don't want to be here
or give up on the dreams that sear my heart like a razor that can not be removed---I'm losing my tread and my pace is lagging, my soul and spirit are calling for redemption but my actions are so far extended---
What is it that has kept me in this deficit, so needy and missing,
fragmented w/ plenty indention's?---hurt so much until I struggle w/ connecting to the LOVE of my heart---

Where are you first LOVE; You elusive Spirit of wonder and endless salvation?
Where have you gone?
Or have I just wandered so far from you until I don't remember my way back home?
I'm broken and wounded, lost and bruised, neglected and misused;
so perforated and torn, rejection and displaced;
caught wearing so many mask that I don't know which one is my true face.

Where are the pastors who said they would pray,
The elders who said they would lay---hands on,
The parents who promised to guide,
The siblings with whom I could confide,
The friends who said they would ride,
The spouses who vowed love for life,
The children whose innocence knew no crime---and where are YOU?

At the time when I feel the weakest, are you there?
Are you still interested in the number of my hairs,
The length of my days,
or the exit to my life's maze?
Am I still fearfully and wonderfully MADE---
In your image even when I break your commandments
And allow fear to make me timid?
What's my sin limit?
Has my grace run out or do I have a minute?
All I know is that I don't want to imagine life without you,
Breathing w/o your Spirit,
Seeing without your vision,
Or being hidden from the place where I was first commissioned.

The cry of my heart wants you close again, so I'm going to return to the closest place, I know----
I'm seeking your hand until I see your face;

I'm yearning to hold your hand of provision;
I'm hoping that you will reach for me and you listen.

Please, hear my cry oh Father,
And give ear to the pondering heart of your Prodigal Son;
And "My mouth will show forth Your praise" and
"I will teach transgressors Your ways,
And sinners shall be converted to You."

Redeem me, that my PURPOSE may be
secure in YOU.

BIG DREAMS, GREAT VISION!!!!

We all desire to have certain levels of success in our lives; however, sometimes life situations tend to master us and we lose ourselves in the day-to-day shuffle of survival. To those who have BIG DREAMS; DREAMS that have taken a back-seat to work, family, friends, stress, responsibilities and extra-curricular activities, I dare you to DREAM again! I dare you reach into the background of your vividly painted life and pull those hidden dreams into your current foreground. I dare you appropriate thirty-minutes of your day to working on your DREAM. I, most importantly, dare you to ask God to expand your vision and enlarge your tent, so that you can see in the reality of LIVING and embrace the view of Heaven.

A great friend of mine, Minister Ashley Woodberry, said one of the most profound things to me one day. He said, "A dream is awesome until you wake up. A vision will not let you sleep!" Your every success in life is centered around your individual focus and determination to fulfil whatever goal you have set before you. There are three principles that I hold true to and five focus-filled statements that I meditate on in order to project the realm of unlimited success that is available for me and others. These are the "mantra's" that help me stay balances as I pursue my goals and I hope that they do the same for you:

Principles

(1) All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty. Proverbs 14:23 SAY LITTLE, DO BIG!!!!!

(2) Discipline & Obedience will take you to your DESTINY!!!

(3) Wealth amounts to the abundance of overflowing resources available and in operation in every area of your life. So don't overwork to be rich; because of your understanding know when to cease!

Focus-filled Statements

(1) Though you may have many DREAMS or VISIONS, focus on one goal at a time. Make projects small and attainable and with each success the next goal becomes that much easier to accomplish.

(2) Live in a bubble of constant positive reinforcement. Defuse all negativity!!! There is no goal or dream too BIG or insurmountable! But you MUST put in the work to in turn see the profit!

(3) Nothing is beyond, above or beneath your reach! If the power of life and death are held in the things you say, then the power of your words will orchestrate your DESTINY!

(4) Recreate your life by speaking the positive potential and living the exceptional life style that you were created to live.

(5) Create a product and brand that is undeniable (YOU), then fully and utterly engross yourself in that product and the vision for its continual success and growth will flourish.

This day is the greatest day that you have to celebrate, because it is the NOW and the PRESENT and these MOMENTS of your existence that will never be relived. Challenge yourself to focus on LIVING and not just existing. Give thanks to God for this new moment of mercy and reflect of these following words:

~ Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.
M.K. Ghandi

~ So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. Let Your work appear to Your servants, And Your Glory to their children. And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, And establish the work of our hands for us; Yes establish the work of our hands.
Psalm 90:12;16-17

Big DREAMS start with One Small Idea...Let Today be Your Day to LIVE the DREAM!!!!

LEGACY

“Our days are numbered. One of the primary goals in our lives should be to prepare for our last day. The legacy we leave is not just in our possessions, but in the quality of our lives. What preparations should we be making now? The greatest waste in all of our earth, which cannot be recycled or reclaimed, is our waste of the time that God has given us each day.”---Billy Graham

When I woke up this morning I stood over my children and watched them as they slept and began to admire their lives, their existence and was astonished by the beauty of their humanity. Even though I've understood the principles of inheritance and legacy for years, it was at that moment that I became even more cognizant of the fact that not only are they my legacy from God, but that I also possess a legacy that must be responsibly and righteously instilled, imparted, and revealed to them. This led me to start really evaluating the legacy I will leave to not only my children, but the world.

In its legal sense, Legacy is the "giving of gifts in the form of property or money; something handed down from an ancestor or predecessor or from the past; something acquired without compensation (Unabridged Cambridge Dictionary)." However, Legacy is so much more than the handing down of possessions, the continuance of monetary status, affluence or social benevolence; for those who inherit a Legacy will never have a need for money because the prominence of Legacy will embody and activate passion, potential and most importantly PURPOSE.

In conjunction to its legal meaning, the definition of Legacy holds true spiritually. Throughout history and scriptural depictions of historical occurrences, we have far too many times seen the heritage of iniquity, the transferal of sin nature or the affects of generational curses. We have heard sermons and speeches on inheritances lost and forfeited, blundered and wasted, misused and spent and yet we have not truly taken into consideration that legacy and inheritance serve eternal purpose and not just historical reference. We have not given credence to what our legacy will be or shall become, because we have been so ensnared by the iniquities of our forefathers (that inheritance of unrighteousness which is inherent in us all since the fall of man-kind).

Much of who we are has been tied up in what we have been willed. Our faults, our misjudged decisions, our fears, even our drive and ambition (fueled by fears of failure or historical repetitiveness) and stumbling blocks have all come from what we've received from observation, assimilation, or mere propensity or proclivity to the nature of our ancestry. Make no mistake, no excuse can be given for the sins that we commit to out of our own volition; however, we must understand the root of our inherent nature so that the Legacy we leave will be one that exhibits that of our esteemed spiritual placement, instead of our down-trodden natural displacement.

Naturally, we view ourselves as leaving a proprietary legacy, which includes: money, land, prominence, high societal status, and a name that is laudable and mentioned among the 'who's who' of history books. But what about the intangible things that we pass up (instead of down) that are of significance (those spiritually imputations that so often go unnoticed or unspoken)?

Have we taken the time to view and implement God's pattern and blue-print for success, significance and legacy, more so, then the familiar and often encompassing ideologies of the world's systems?

Have we found out the true meaning of inheritance and made covenant w/ God to establish His right way of doing things, expelling the patterns that we have inherited and then effortlessly setting up these God-given principles so that they become the pillars of our community, our families, and our relationships?

These are just a few things we as spirit beings should consider as we exist in this chronologically driven plane of humanity...Make your Legacy one of substantial significance...Only you and God know the path for you.

---D. Sherow, Jr.
